Now it is getting down to the small stuffs. The hood ornaments, lights, etc. take a lot of time to carve. Dana has "reading glasses" though, and by gosh he had to use them!
This sliver of wood to the left came close to losing its life down my kitchen drain. Dana soaked the wood (and steamed it in the microwave) such that it would be pliable enough for him to bend it around the front and sides of the car hence keeping it in one piece, as the trim is on the original car.
The letters for the front of the car are cut, trimmed and sanded.
Dana has the grille drawn on and needs to carve it out.
The back license plate is 3/32" thick and the "trim" is thinner yet....
