Cutting, carving, and sanding is done. Dana will now unassemble it and then stain the pieces.  After staining, he will re-assemble it and glue everything together and then finish the car with a varnish of some sort. 
Below, Dana has completed the staining process and has taped off the parts that he does not want varnish on (it doesn't hold glue well, I guess).  The screw in the bottom of the piece is for him to be able to hang it such that he can spray all sides of the pieces, along with anything else that gets in his way.  The door you see was at one time unfinished, but now holds a nice gloss...  Ouch, I beg my husband's pardon - it's not "varnish" it's polyeurathane.  I reckon he'll let me know how to spell it too...
